Josh Dierickx, 30, of Wheatland, Iowa, died Monday, January 6, 2025, at home, following a 13-year courageous battle with epilepsy.
Joshua Michael Dierickx was born September 25, 1994, in Davenport, Iowa, the second of four boys born to James and Pam (Boogerd) Dierickx. He graduated from Calamus-Wheatland High School class of 2013. While there, he participated in track and cross country. Josh attended Kirkwood Community College for one year. He enjoyed reading, listening to music, watching cartoons and anime, and following sports, especially the Packers, Hawkeyes, and Boston Red Sox.
Those left to honor his memory include his parents, James and Pam; brothers, Zach of Wheatland, Aaron (Cassidy) of Davenport, and Abram of Corpus Christi, Texas; paternal grandfather, Dan Dierickx; paternal step-grandfather, Cliff (Sue) Lund; aunts and uncles, Rebecca Dierickx, Tommy (Becky) Dierickx, Ron (Sue) Boogerd, and Brenda (Matt) Wills; numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, JoAnna M. Lund, maternal grandparents, Marv and Nelva Boogerd; paternal step-great-grandparents, Cleland and Marge Lund.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 12:00 noon, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the Wheatland Community Hall, Pastor Curt Girod officiating. Private burial following. Attendees are invited to a luncheon following the service in the Community Hall.
The family would like to thank the neurology department at the University of Iowa, Clinton County First Responders, and the team at Genesis-East for their excellent care over the last 13 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in support of epilepsy research.
