Obituary

John S. Jorgensen, 61, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away March 22, 2022, in Iowa City.

John Scott Jorgensen was born May 17, 1960, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of John and Arlene (Hoff) Jorgensen. He graduated from high school in Spearfish, SD. John worked in the restaurant industry and in landscaping. He was married to Wendy Goodell, with whom he had two sons. They later divorced.

John loved all sports and was a standout athlete in high school. John loved his Bronco’s, and was also a great lover of music and music trivia.

John is survived by his sons, Christopher Jorgensen of Alaska, and Tyler Jorgensen of Michigan; granddaughters, Alexia Jorgensen and Valerie Jorgensen; a sister Kim (Gary) Moore of Grand Mound, a brother, Lance (Wendy) Jorgensen of Long Grove; nieces and a nephew; and a special friend, Kathy O’Neil Kaczinski.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and a nephew, Andrew Jorgensen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
