John E. Hart

John Hart, 74, of DeWitt, formerly of Camanche, Iowa, passed away, early Tuesday morning, June 7, 2022, at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt.

John Ernest Hart was born September 5, 1947, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Darlene Hart. John was raised by his Grannie and Granddad Allred. He attended school in Eddyville, Iowa. John married Yvonne Bain on December 28, 1968, in Ottumwa. The couple moved to Camanche in 1969, where they resided until 2012. John worked as a printer pressman and ink specialist until retirement.

John was a fanatic of anything racing, and made many friends and great memories at the track. He loved camping, snowmobiling, and Sunday afternoon drives.

Left to honor his memory are his wife of 53 years, Yvonne; children, Joy (Gene) Hart Hoagland of Fulton, Illinois, DeVonne (Joshua) Mitchell of Delmar, Trisha Hart of Colona, Illinois; grandchildren, David Hart, Cody (Heather) O’Donnell, Christina (Justin) Hansen, Brandon (Maricella) Eagan, Izabelle Hart, and Maddy Hart; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Jaqueline, Emma, Sophia, and River; a step-sister, Marlys Ingles; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Dave Hammond Jr.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Schultz Funeral Home in DeWitt, Lori Shearon officiating. Following the service, family will greet friends and relatives from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
