Joanne Delever, 78, of Calamus, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
Joanne Marie Hein was born June 29, 1946, in Bennett, Iowa, to Albert and Helen (Kai) Hein. She graduated from Bennett High School in 1964. Joanne married Donald Delever on September 11, 1965. The couple settled in Calamus in 1976. She worked for Bawden Printing / RR Donnelly for 25 years. In retirement, she worked at QC Networks parttime.
Joanne enjoyed working in her flower beds, birdwatching, hunting, fishing, camping, golf, and going to NASCAR races.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Michele Carle, and Mark Delever, both of Calamus; grandchildren, Damian Noble, Jr., Ciara Delever, Kailey Hamdorf, William Delever, and Marlie Delever; great-grandchildren, Michael, Evalynn, and Carter; sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Meyer, of Cedar Rapids, and Diane Delever of Arizona; nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Margo, Janet, and Deb.
She is welcomed into the next life by her loving husband, Don, her parents, brothers-in-law, Harry Jr., Albert, and David Delever, and Bill Meyer.
In keeping with Joanne’s wishes, no services will be held. Cards can be sent to the family at P.O. Box 284 Calamus, Iowa 52729.
