Jeanette Ilg, 92, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Jeanette Elizabeth Ilg was born on September 8, 1930, in La Motte, Iowa, to William and Elizabeth (Olsen) Wagner. She married Gerald J. Ilg on October 16, 1952, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in La Motte. Gerald preceded her in death on April 2, 2009. Jeannette was a nurse's aide at DeWitt Hospital and also farmed with her husband northwest of the Grand Mound and Calamus areas.
Jeanette was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society, Clinton County Farm Bureau and A.A.R.P. She loved going on trips, doing Sudoku and crossword puzzles, crafts, and listening to White Sox games. She adored her family and grandchildren.
Those left to honor Jeanette’s memory include her children, Janice (Edward) Ilg LaBrusk of Sugar Grove, Illinois, and John Ilg of Clinton; grandchildren, Jacqueline Ilg of Tampa, Florida, Keli (Tanner) Brooks of Albany, Illinois, Curtis Ilg of Clinton; great-grandchildren, Travis Klancher and Gracelyn Brooks; siblings Orville (Pat) Wagner of Delmar and Eugene Wagner of Maquoketa; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Armella, Eileen, Marvin, and Norbert.
