Jean Hansen Knabel Williams, 90, of Wheatland, Iowa, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024, at Wheatland Manor.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calamus, Karmen Jamison officiating.
Jean was born January 2, 1934, to Carl and Sylvia (Day) Hansen in Dixon, Iowa. She graduated in 1951 from Calamus Consolidated school. Jean married Sherwood Knabel on June 2, 1951. She later married John Hale Williams on January 11, 1981. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2007. Jean worked as president and treasurer of Hansen Implement Company in Calamus, Iowa. She also worked at Iowa Mutual and Wheatland Manor.
Jean was an active member of the Methodist Church, wherever she lived, for over 75 years.
She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary over 70 years. Jean loved to sing, read, and dance. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats and dogs. She loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, John, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Hansen, and daughter, Wendy Schueler.
Surviving are her children, Wayne (Teri) Knabel, Jon (Kris) Knabel, and son-in-law, James Schueler; grandchildren, Gwen (Dennis) Galloway, Jessica (Joe) Horaney, Sara (Bob) Ready, Josh, Zach (fiancée Mikaela), Chelsie Knabel, Shawn Lange, and Ian Schutt; great-grandchildren, Alex, Dylan, Betty, TJ, Bobby, and Sylvie; stepchildren, Nick, Andi, Jeff, Michelle, Mike, and Jill; bonus family, Tracie Williams and her children, Sierra (Jared) Vogt, and Jackson Williams.
Jean had a beautiful life, worshipped the Lord, and will be deeply missed.
