Jean L. Peahl, 80, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus in Davenport.
Jean was born August 23, 1940, to Elmer and Birdie (Meier) Erps in Scott County, Iowa. She was a graduate of DeWitt High School. Jean married Marvin C. Peahl on April 26, 1959, at Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt. She held several jobs around the community, retiring from DeWitt Community Hospital. Marvin preceded her in death in 1998.
Jean was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Mound. She enjoyed going to auctions, being outside, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball, and collecting pigs and John Deere memorabilia.
She is survived by her son, Charles (Gail) Peahl of DeWitt; step-grandchildren, Kayla Livermore, Shawn (Jessica) Livermore, and Derrick (fiancée Rockie Fuller) Livermore; step-greatgrandchildren, Riley, Conner, and Parker; siblings, Tony (Sandy) Erps, and Teresa (Dale) Schultze; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Steven Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Grand Mound Volunteer Fire Department or Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Mound.
