Marilyn Jean Hill, 81, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Genesis Medical Center-East in Davenport.
Marilyn Jean Hill was born October 28, 1942, in Clinton, Iowa, to Howard and Frances (Hogg) Hill. Jean was a graduate of Central DeWitt High School. She married Billie “B.J.” Alvis on May 6, 2000, and spent 15 happy years with him traveling all over the United States and Canada in their motor home. B.J. preceded her in death in 2015.
Jean was a longtime and active member of the Order of Eastern Star, as well as the United Methodist Church. Jean loved dogs, sports, the great outdoors, golfing, camping, traveling, and mowing the lawn.
Surviving are a niece and her husband, Kelly and Brian Marburger of Miles; grand-niece and nephews, Josh (Alyssa) Marburger, Kaitlin (Jacob) Wilke, Colin Marburger and Will Marburger; a great-grand nieces and nephew, Jaydynn Zajicek, Emersen Wilke, and Russell Marburger.
In addition to her husband, preceding her in death was her father, Howard Hill, her mother, Frances Hill Wierema and step-father, George Wierema, her sister, Joyce (Larry) Nagel, and a nephew, Darren Nagel.
In keeping with Jean’s wishes, no services will be held. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
