James Harroun, 83, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Saturday, August 9, 2025, in his home.
A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, with Visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Merle Warnsholz will officiate. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
James Wayne Harroun was born August 31, 1941, in Davenport to John and Theresa (Ewoldt) Harroun. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army.
Jim married Sharon Reed, adopting her son, Wade, and together they had a son, Bryan. He later married Kathryn Lavon Munden on April 19, 1974, in Stockton, Iowa. Kathryn preceded him in death on May 29, 2009. On June 26, 2010, he married Charlotte Louise Knutson-Nothdorf, who passed away May 1, 2025. Jim worked for many years as an automotive mechanic and truck driver, retiring after a long career. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Surviving are his children, Bryan Harroun and Wade Harroun; stepchildren, Jill (John) Gisel and Mark (Michele) Nothdorf; step-daughter-in-law, Linda Nothdorf; grandchildren, and step-grandchildren; in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Kathryn, and Charlotte; stepson, Scott Nothdorf; siblings, John Harroun and Marlene Linder; and sister-in-law, Charlene (Kenny) Paarmann.
