Jacob Lee Williams, 15, Charlotte, Iowa, went Home to be with Jesus, Thursday afternoon, June 5, 2003 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Jacob was born December 9, 1987, the son of Charles “Chuck”, III and Jennifer (Barfels) Williams.  He had a strong love for, and belief in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which was shown through his thoughtfulness and compassion toward others.  That faith also made his three-year illness more bearable.  He was a baptized member of the Church of the Open Door, Clinton.  Jacob had just completed his freshman year at Northeast High School at Goose Lake, Iowa, where he was an honor student and played trombone in the band.  He was an excellent artist and enjoyed drawing cartoons.  He was a wonderful big brother to his siblings whom he loved dearly.

Surviving are his parents, Chuck and Jennifer; four brothers, Grant, Carson, Tyler, and Trevor; two sisters, Cheyenne and Jessica; grandparents, Clara Williams, Charlotte; Betty and Tom Hogue, Davenport, Iowa; Jay and Pat Barfels, Bellevue, Iowa; great-grandparents, Lester and Winona Barfels, Reinbeck, Iowa; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
