Ida M. (Mrs. Raymond) Lowe, 100, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Saturday evening, January 12, 2013, at Crestridge Nursing Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.

The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2013, in the Funeral Home. Ida's grandson, Joel Knight will officiate with burial at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. A luncheon will follow at the United Methodist Church of DeWitt. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of DeWitt, or Jackson County Hospice.

Pallbearers will be David Knight, Allen Kunde, Dan Davis, Stephen Sagers, Nathain Sagers, Monica Sagers, Troy Koontz and Tracey "Mac" McMorran. Honorary pallbearer will be Travis Knight.

Mrs. Lowe, the former Ida Margaret Strayer was born November 15, 1912, in Milan, Illinois, to John and Josie (Keller) Strayer. On July 19, 1933, Ida was united in marriage to Raymond F. Lowe in Spring Valley, Illinois. The couple founded DeWitt Auto Body Shop which they operated until retirement. Ida was a homemaker much of her life and also served as secretary of the family business. Her husband Ray, preceded her in death on February 11, 2008.

She was a longtime and active member of the United Methodist Church of DeWitt. Ida was also a member of Springbrook Country Club and enjoyed golfing, reading, and playing cards. She was formerly an active member of the Eastern Star Chapter and the Loyal Order of Moose.

Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Knight of DeWitt, and son, Roger (Sharon) Lowe of Colorado City, Colorado; grandchildren, David Knight of Davenport, Iowa, Richard(Lindy) Knight of Anaheim, California, Joel (Joni) Knight of Howe, Texas, Carol (Allen) Kunde of DeWitt, and Carla (Troy Koontz) Sagers of Lost Nation, Iowa, Cori (Steve) Collie of Park City, Kansas, and Mike Lowe of Wichita, Kansas; six great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ida in death in addition to her husband were her parents; an infant son, David Bruce; an infant grandson, Edward Knight, an infant great-granddaughter, Ashley Miller; an infant great-granddaughter, Marlaina Collie; and siblings, May Fuller, Pauline Miller, Edward Strayer, George Strayer, Bernard Strayer and Arthur Strayer.
