Harry Wiese, 86, of Charlotte, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Fieldstone of DeWitt.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charlotte, where Harry was a lifelong member. He will be laid to rest at Center Grove Cemetery in rural Bryant.
Born on March 30, 1938, in Clinton, Iowa, to William and DeEthel (Matthiesen) Wiese, Harry grew up with a deep appreciation for the land and a strong sense of responsibility. Following his father’s passing in 1954, he and his brother took over the family farm, dedicating their lives to its care and success. A 1956 graduate of Charlotte High School, he also proudly served in the Army National Guard Reserves.
A dedicated farmer, a man of unwavering faith, and a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Harry lived a life rooted in hard work, service, and community. Harry was a man of quiet strength, steadfast in his commitments and generous with his kindness.
He is lovingly remembered by his son, Wes, daughter-in-law, Tetiana, and grandson, Vincent Diesel Wiese; granddaughters, Jennifer, Lindsey, and Ashley; brothers, Carlton (Glenda) and Lynn (Laurie); son-in-law, Robert Gardiner; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his former wife, Bonnie Mae Wiese; his children, Wade Wiese and Dixie Gardiner; his brother, Roland (Connie); and his infant son, Harry Wiese Jr.
Arrangements are in the care of Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Condolences may be shared at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com
