Harold LeRoy Bennett, age 4, of Wheatland, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2026, as the result of a four-wheeler accident, alongside his beloved Papa, Lon LeRoy Bennett.
Harold was born June 1, 2021, in Davenport, Iowa, to Chase and Brittany (Reynolds) Bennett. He was baptized on July 2, 2023, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Wheatland.
Harold was a caring, hardworking, strong, loving, and incredibly smart little boy who lived life to the fullest. He was the very best big brother and protector to his little sister, Lucille. If she was upset about worms, Harold was there to save the day.
Harold loved trucks and motors, farming, cows, dirt bikes, four wheelers, monster trucks, boots, and helping. He was the best helper for anyone who needed him. He loved gardening, picking berries and asparagus, books at bedtime, and staying active outdoors. He dreamed of becoming a monster truck driver when he got big and had plans for a monster truck-themed birthday party.
He was growing in his faith and asked thoughtful questions about Heaven and God. Harold brought curiosity, laughter, hugs, boots, and endless energy wherever he went. Though Harold’s life was far too short, the love he gave was immeasurable.
Harold is survived by his loving parents, Chase and Brittany Bennett of Wheatland; his younger sister, Lucille; his Nana Bobbi and Mark “Dinger” Boeding, of Low Moor; his Grandmammy Noell, and Grandpa Mark Reynolds, of Sumner; his great-grandparents, Berle and Margaret Smothers and Richard and Marlys Reynolds all of Sumner; his aunts and uncles, Ashley (Stephanie) Reynolds, Madison (Dylan) Rickels, Kailey Bennett, and Nathan Reynolds; and his cousins, Easton, Lennox, Grady, Sutton, and Henry.
He was preceded in death by his Papa, Lon Leroy Bennett; his great-grandparents, Bob and Jeanie Cavey, and Donald and Beulah Bennett; and many other extended family members and loved ones.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Wheatland. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, in the church, with Pastor Tessa Cavey officiating. Lunch will follow at Wheatland Community Hall. Burial will take place at a later date at Union Mound Cemetery, Sumner.
