Obituary

Greg Mickelson, 54, of Calamus, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 26, 2023, in his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at CALCO in Calamus. Greg will be laid to rest alongside his parents at McCausland Cemetery.  Procession to the cemetery will begin at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt at 10:30 AM Saturday. 

Gregory Van Mickelson was born Christmas Day 1968, to Gary and Edna (Miller) Mickelson icn DeWitt, Iowa. He graduated from Central Community High School in DeWitt in 1987. Greg was a life-long truck driver, beginning in high school. He also worked in HVAC and plumbing with his good friend Jeff Griebel. He spent his free time working on his race car and renovating his house. Greg always said, “if man made it, we can fix it.”

Greg was a proud dad and Papa. His family was everything to him.

Surviving are his children, David (Sara) Mickelson of Lost Nation, and Danielle (DJ) Weiskircher of DeWitt; grandchildren, Elliott, Videl, Ryker, Valese, Clyde, Vallon and Taylor; his sister, Aimee (Greg) Roling of Grand Mound; extended family, and many great friends.
