Gloria A. Ruggeberg, age 81 of DeWitt, Iowa died January 3, 2023.
Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt at a later date, as well as a gathering in celebration of her life.
Gloria was the daughter of John and Esther (Struck) Willey. Gloria was a graduate of Wheatland High School and Clinton Community College. She married Lolan Ruggeberg on June 18, 1960 in Toronto, Iowa. Gloria spent much of work life in medical management. She retired from Clinton Schools in 2011. Her husband Lolan preceded her in death February 3, 1998.
Gloria spent 12 years working as a disaster instructor and worker with the Red Cross and was a certified Medicare Counselor with SHIP for the State of Iowa. She was also active in promoting the benefits of organ and tissue donation. She loved to travel, read, cook, and do puzzles.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Mark Ruggeberg & Bob Brooks of Iowa City, Evan & Priscilla Ruggeberg of Stillman Valley, Illinois, and Mary & Kevin Rice of DeWitt. Granddaughters Ashtin (Tyler) Trimble and Courtney (Shawn) Dunnegan of DeWitt. Great grandchildren Hayden & Owen Trimble, Brecken, Greyson, Westen & Hadley Dunnegan. Sister Rita (James) Meyer of Toronto.
In addition to her husband, Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, sister Joyce Schnipkoweit and brother-in-law Fred Schnipkoweit.
Memorials may be made to the Red Cross or Clinton County Humane Society in her name.
