Franklin Delano Lippens was born on December 9, 1938, in DeWitt, Iowa, to Peter and Julia Bertia (Lampaert) Lippens. He grew up on the family farm north of DeWitt. Frank married Barbara Ann Behr on December 28, 1958. Together they farmed the family homestead for many years. From this loving union they were blessed with seven children.
Frank enjoyed drinking coffee and enjoying the town gossip with the guys in the coffee club, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, playing cards, Wednesday Bingo at Fieldstone, and talking about anything to do with farming and Case IH equipment. More than anything, he enjoyed a good T-bone steak.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara; his children, Mark (Julie Brown) Lippens, of Maquoketa, Jeff (Beth) Lippens of Grand Mound, Cindy Williams of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Michele (Gerry "Osky”) Wulf of Calamus, Doug (Heidi) Lippens of Miles, Ron (Wendi) Lippens of Goose Lake, and Jamie (Amy) Lippens of DeWitt; 25 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marian Nichols; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his siblings, Emily Caes, John Lippens, Rose Singlemann, Robert Lippens, his twin brother, Peter Lippens, and his grandson, Michael Wulf.
Arrangements are in the care of Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Condolences may be expressed at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com
