Evie Scharff

Evie Scharff, 85, of Charlotte, Iowa, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at Eagle Point Nursing Home in Clinton.

Evie was born Okhee Won in Korea on September 8, 1936. She married Richard R. “Tank” Scharff on March 21, 1961. The couple lived in Charlotte where Evie was a homemaker. Tank preceded her in death on July 2, 2007.

Evie was a member of Grace Korean Church in Moline, Illinois. She enjoyed cooking for others, playing BINGO, cards, and pool, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by a sister and brother in Korea; in-laws, Yvonne Gradert of Bryant, Karen (Darrel) Kensrud of Bloomington, Minnesota, Harriet (Larry) Simmons of Goose Lake, and Harry (Judy) Scharff of Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and many other extended family.

Visitation will be from 12:00 until the service time of 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, the Rev. Ki Yoon Oh of Grace Korean Church officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.
