Elizabeth Ann Barton

Elizabeth Barton, 54, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in her home due to a massive heart attack.

Elizabeth was born December 18, 1969, in Princeton, Illinois, to John and Eleanor (Babcock) Nally. After graduating from high school, she joined the U.S. Navy serving 10 years. Elizabeth was married to James Barton Jr., with whom she had two sons, James III, and Billy. They later divorced. Following her honorable discharge, Elizabeth worked as dental assistant, and was currently a massage therapist in DeWitt.

She is survived by her sons, James O’dell Barton, III, and his wife, Juliann of Toronto, and Billy Vincent Barton of Clinton; a grandson, Benjamin Barton; siblings, John (Tracy) Nally, Dorothy (Mike) Stazzone, Marten Nally, and Tammy Moncivaiz; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Military Rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
