Elaine (Martin) Marshall Tubbs, 80, of DeWitt, Iowa, died on March 6, 2025.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 12:00 p.m. at Schultz Funeral Home in DeWitt. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt.
Elaine Louise Martin was born in DeWitt, Iowa, April 2, 1944, to Earl and Alice (Rock) Martin. She graduated from Central Community Schools in DeWitt, and worked at Necker’s Jewelry and Maquoketa State Bank. Elaine married Kenneth “Kenny” Marshall on February 9, 1963. They shared 36 years and raised two children, Pam and Mike, before he passed in 1998. On March 11, 2000, Elaine married Edward “Ed” Tubbs and they enjoyed 10 happy years before he passed in 2010.
Elaine was blessed to be called Mom by two foreign exchange kids, Paulo and Kaz, who added much joy and adventure to her life. She enjoyed gardening, holiday decorating and gatherings, her travels with Ed, and spoiling her grand and great-grandchildren.
Elaine is fondly remembered by her two children, Pam (Jim Darling) Marshall and Mike Marshall; her “sons” Paulo (Marlei) Hermann and Kaz Takahashi; her grandchildren, Marty (Ashley) Marshall, Jessica (Eric) Wilhelm, Kaleb (Jill) Marshall, and Thomas (Bizzy) Marshall; great-grandchildren, David, Karter, Kenny, Brandon, Tori, Noah, Michael, and Phoebe; a sister, Dianne (Martin) Petersen; and sisters-in-law, Lavonne Martin and Jeanine Martin. She is also survived by loving Marshall and Tubbs in-laws, nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and her spouses; brothers, John, Dick, and Jack; a sister, Maureen; and brothers-in-law, Bob Tullberg, Jerry Goulette, and Gerald Petersen.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
