Elaine Ann Miller

Elaine Miller, 82, of Delmar, Iowa, passed away peacefully Friday, June 14, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

Elaine Ann Petersen was born August 30, 1941, in Davenport, Iowa, to the late Emil and Matilda (Oehlrich) Petersen. She graduated from Wheatland High School in 1958. She was united in marriage to Charles Miller on May 23, 1964, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa. The couple resided East of Delmar, in a house that Charles built, where they raised their 4 children. Elaine later worked at Wal-Mart in Maquoketa for 20 years. Charles preceded her in death in 2021.

Elaine enjoyed playing cards and going to auctions with Charles. She loved cats and collecting penguins.  She also enjoyed activities with her girlfriends, especially garage sales, bus trips, and going out to eat.

She is survived by her children, Diane (Mike Holmes) Wilhelm of Delmar, Scott (Leslee) Miller of Mankato, Minnesota, Rita (Dennis) Mueggenberg of Elkhart, Sarah (Daniel Wells) Miller of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Brian Wilhelm, and Erik (Jessica) Wilhelm, Alexandra, Megan, and Luke Mueggenberg; many great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, William (Wanda) Miller of Ankeny; a niece and nephew.

A private family service will be held. Elaine will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Delmar.
