Dorothy Lehmkuhl, 91, formerly of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in her home at Park Vista, Camanche.
Dorothy Ann Kisner was born August 7, 1933, in Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Mabel (Hensch) Kisner. She married Richard Lehmkuhl on September 17, 1955, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for several railroad companies, retiring from ConAgra River Terminal.
Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt, where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafting, travel, dancing, cooking and baking, and time spent with family and friends.
Surviving are sons, Michael (Patricia) Lehmkuhl of Dubuque, David (Margie) Lehmkuhl and John (Sandy) Lehmkuhl of Clinton; grandchildren, Ashley (Jonathan) Karn, Jennifer (Carl) Lindberg, Perry Lehmkuhl, Kari (Baykham) Cam, Benjamin (Kristin) Lehmkuhl, Andrew (Taylor) Lehmkuhl, Megan (Zach) Dalhoff, and Jacob (Lily) Lehmkuhl; great-grandchildren, Arleigh, Bergen, and Gaitlin Karn, Millie and Dexter Lindberg, and Sloane, Lennox, Scout, and Remi Cam, Charlotte and baby-due-soon Lehmkuhl, Nolan Dalhoff, and Maverick Lehmkuhl; her sister, Beverly Dvorak; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Regina Bergman, Shirley Egger, and brothers Lawrence Kisner, Floyd Kisner, John Kisner and Dale Kisner and her great-grandson Liam Dalhof.
Following a private family visitation, the Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 20th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, DeWitt.
