Doris Andersen, 93, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook in Bettendorf.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.
Doris Jane Easton was born October 13, 1931, in Clinton County, Iowa, to Loyal and Opal (Lockwood) Easton. After graduating from Calamus High School, she married John E. Andersen on June 2, 1957, in Calamus. The couple resided in Davenport, where Doris was a homemaker, raising 4 children. She enjoyed working in the yard, tending her gardens, and most especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was famous for her cookies and canned vegetables from her garden. Doris was a wonderful cook and made a different homemade dessert for her family every night.
Surviving are her sons, Dave (Connie) Andersen, Don (Deb) Andersen, and Rich (Tina) Andersen all of Davenport; a sister, Lucille Schurbon, of Lost Nation; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy, Lacey, Bryan, Shane, Sydney, and Connor; and 4 great-grandchildren, Presley, Blayke, Haydden, and Emma; and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents and her daughter, Jessica.
Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
