Diane Roling

Diane Catherine Roling, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Monday, June 14, 2021 at Genesis Senior Living Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Diane was born October 31, 1944, in Clinton, Iowa, to the late Arlo and Genevive (Anglese) Petersen.  She married Kenneth Roling January 19, 1963, at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, Clinton.  The couple resided in DeWitt, where Diane was a homemaker. She later worked as a C.N.A. at Westwing Place until retirement. Ken preceded in death on September 21, 2020.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt.  Diane enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, camping, gardening, cross stitching, and visiting with neighbors.

Surviving are her children, Kevin (Tammy) Roling of Bryant, Lisa Roling of Des Moines and Allen (Jessica) Roling of Preston; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard “Dick” (Judy) Petersen of Clinton, and Dennis “Pete” (Karen) Petersen, of Las Vegas, Nevada; nieces and nephews.

Also preceding Diane in death was her son, Mark.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2021, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sugar Creek with the Rev. Fr. Scott Lemaster officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott Roling, Jeff Trenkamp, Chris Lawrence, Ben Roling, Mark Roling, and Dave Voss.  Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Mary Roling, Kelley Roling, Molly King, Isaac Roling, Wyatt Roling and Makena Roling.
