Diana Lynn Ocheltree, 67, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020, in her home.
Diana was born May 20, 1953, to Curtis and Mary (Fisk) Prather in Beardstown, Illinois. After graduating from high school she received a Bachelor of Education degree degree from Culver Stockton in Quincy, Illinois. Diana began her teaching career in the Clinton, Iowa, community school district in August of 1973 and retired in May of 2018. She married Steven Ocheltree on October 20, 1979, at the Church of God in Ripley, Illinois. The couple resided in DeWitt.
Diana was an active member of God’s Family Baptist Church in Grand Mound, where she taught Sunday School to the elementary age children. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering at Westwing Place and Maggie’s House, doing crafts and helping people.
She is survived by her husband, Steve; a daughter, Stacy Ocheltree of Grand Mound; grandchildren, Adonis, Adreona, and Alana; a brother, Randall (Darlene) Prather of La Prairie, Illinois, sisters, Linda (Bill) Smart, and Pat (Dale) Davis all of Rushville, Illinois; father-in-law, Ed Green, sister-in-law, Kathy (Randy) Ocheltree; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Antonio Ocheltree, and her mother-in-law, Marilyn Green.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with a memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. The service will be streamed at https://www.facebook.com/schultzfuneralhomes/live. Pastor Jerry Hull of God’s Family Baptist Church, Grand Mound will officiate. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
