David “Dave” Hausner, 58, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
David was born on August 12, 1966, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of James Hausner and Janet (Besco) Bell.
In his younger years, David loved spending time with family at his paternal grandparents’ home—riding the minibike, sledding, fishing, camping, boating, and gathering around the campfire. These memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
David worked as a laborer and formed many friendships along the way. He was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and kind heart.
He is survived by his three nieces, Jamie Hausner Pringle, Kayla West, and Heidi Musselman, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alonza and Madeline Hausner; his father, James Hausner; his mother, Janet Bell; his sister, Seanne Hausner West; and his longtime companion, Shirley Haugen.
Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Rest in peace, David, and fly high with the angels.
No public services will be held. Remembrances may be shared on the Shultz Funeral Home website at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com
