David Wayne Berhenke, Jr.

David Wayne Berhenke, Jr., 63, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Friday evening, September 25, 2020, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, Illinois.

Dave was born February 2, 1957, to David and Mildred (Kleinsmith) Berhenke in Ft. Riley, Kansas. He was a 1976 graduate of Central Community Schools in De Witt. He married Tamie Tinnian on June 2, 1979, at the De Witt Methodist Church. He worked as a welder for International Harvester.

Dave enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, and the hunt for Bigfoot. He loved his coffee.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tamie; children, Amy Negrete of Pittsburgh, PA, Greg Berhenke of Sacramento, CA, Heather Soto and Nichole Tinnian both of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Shane, Emily, and Yessica, Owen and Connor, and Ainhoa (due in January); his parents; siblings, Lori, Terri, Todd, and Christine; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Debbie, and brother, Gary.

A Private Family Viewing and Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2020, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Interment will be at a later date.
