David Orlyn Bauer

David O. Bauer, 73, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Sunday morning, March 22, 2020, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport.

David Orlyn Bauer was born December 25, 1946, in Clinton to Orlyn and Fern (Reiling) Bauer.  He was a 1965 graduate of DeWitt High School.  Dave was employed by International Harvester, Rock Island for over twenty years.  He also worked at Liqui-Gro in the spring and fall.  Dave was a talented Mason Brick Layer, working on various projects over the years.  He enjoyed raising hogs, golfing, gardening, fishing, NASCAR and was an Iowa Hawkeyes fan.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Michael Garofalo of Vernon, New Jersey; his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Suzanne Bauer of Indianola; grandchildren, Emily and Justin Garofalo and Amanda and Mitchell Bauer; sisters, Donna (Ronnie) Claussen of Grand Mound and Debra (Rodney) Paysen of DeWitt; nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Burial was at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, DeWitt.
