Darwin Andresen, 64, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, February 24, from 3:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday at Schultz Funeral Home in DeWitt. A private family service will be held, with interment at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Darwin Joseph Andresen was born June 21, 1960, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Edwin and Bertha (Holdgrafer) Andresen. He was a 1978 graduate of Central Community Schools, and went on to receive a bachelor's degree from St. Ambrose, in Davenport. He worked many years at Barnes Foodland and retired from Car-Freshner as plant support manager. After retirement, he worked at Scott Drug, delivering prescriptions.
Darwin married Mary Healless on December 4, 1992. The couple resided in DeWitt, where they raised their two daughters, Heidi and Molly. Darwin was an active member of the community, volunteering for DeWitt Central FFA Alumni, serving in leadership roles for the Nite Lions, and donating blood and platelets to save lives.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary; daughters, Heidi Andresen, and Molly Andresen; his mother, Bertha: siblings, Diane Andresen, Daryl (Toyna) Andresen; sister and brothers in-law, Sharon Enwright, Ted Healless, and Mike Healless; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin, and sister, Denise Oldsen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the DeWitt Nite Lions or the DeWitt Central FFA Alumni.
