Daniel Rayford Mervine

Daniel “Dan” Mervine, 63, of Wheatland, Iowa, passed away peacefully Monday, August 7, 2023, in his home.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 11:00 until 12:45 p.m. at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with a Funeral Service following at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Inland Cemetery, rural Bennett.

Dan was born November 1, 1959, to Wilmer and Mary Darlene (Woods) Mervine in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He grew up in the DeWitt area where he attended Central Community Schools. Dan worked Altorfer Cat in Davenport as a forklift mechanic.

Dan was an avid Steelers fan. He loved traveling out West, riding his motorcycle, and working on things.

He is survived by his son, Justin Mervine (Amber Curfman) of DeWitt, a step-daughter, Amy Stevens, and a son Jamie Wagner; his siblings, James (Kathy) Mervine of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Frank (Tammy) Mervine of DeWitt,  Shirley Mervine of Marshalltown and Lucrecia Mervine of Juneau, Alaska; nieces and nephews; his girlfriend, Jenny Knoche; and his fur-baby, Louise.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew, Anthony Ray Mervine.
