Daniel Hartmann Obituary

Daniel Lee Hartmann, 67, of DeWitt, Iowa died Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, as the result of a cardiac event.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Dan’s Birthday, October 1, 2022, at the Low Moor Community Center from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m.

Dan was born October 1, 1954, to Raymond and Lucille (Manning) Hartmann, in Clinton, Iowa. He graduated from Northeast Highschool in Goose Lake. He married Cindy Cady, with whom he had two children. They later divorced. He was also married to Genie Jenkins, and later divorced. Dan retired as a welder from John Deere Davenport Works after 28 years.

Dan was a Harley man, and a die-hard republican. He liked golfing, hunting, fishing, and drinking vodka. Dan loved his grandkids. He was a member of the U.A.W., the N.R.A., and the R.N.C. And he LOVED Iowa Hawkeye football!

He is survived by his son, Adam and his children, Ava and Abe Hartmann, and their mother, Andrea Hartmann; his daughter, Shari (Ricardo Cuatlacuatl) Hartmann and their children, Dominic, Carlos, Camila, and Daniela; a brother, Curt (Dianne) Hartmann; nieces and nephews; an aunt, Fern (Simon) Rasche; and Fiancé Carole Musch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother.

Memorials may be made to the family, c/o Adam Hartmann, to be designated at a later date.
