Cynthia Rae (Behrens) Mueller

Cynthia Rae "Cyndy" Mueller, 69, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Friday morning, December 18, 2020, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

She was born February 15, 1951, in Davenport.  Cyndy was raised by Lloyd Peters and Dorothy (Heick) Peters Ladehoff in Calamus.  Cyndy was a graduate of Calamus High School.  She married Jim Irwin in 1968 and their marriage was blessed with three children, Jim, Sheree and Jeff.  Cyndy married Fred Mueller May 11, 1984, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.  She was a homemaker for many years and sorted corn to earn Christmas money in the fall.  Later she owned operated Cyndy's Café in Calamus.  With the help of Snooks, Roma, Marlita, Snap and Julie started Thursday night tacos at Steffen's Tap.  She later worked at Barnes Foodland, DeWitt.  Cyndy loved to play cards with family and friends, loved Micky Mouse and collected Avon perfume dolls.  Fred preceded Cyndy in death November 6, 2008.

Surviving are children, Jim (Tara) Irwin of DeWitt, Sheree (Kevin) Abbass and Jeff Irwin of Chicago; grandchildren, Katie, Kyle and Kyleen Irwin and Mila Abbass; step-children, Liz Stenhouse and Cindy Mueller; siblings, Mike Behrens, Pam (Rich) Petersen, Dawna (Tom) Wisdom and Lloyd (Rita) Peters; many nieces and nephews.

Also preceding Cyndy in death were her parents; a step-son, Jon Mueller; sisters, Karol Heston and Tish Schurbon and dogs, Maynard, Bart and Bo.

A private family service was held at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.
