Clifton Frank Norberg, 74, formerly of Calamus, Iowa, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020, in Michigan.
He was born to August 21, 1946, to Clarence and Helen Norberg. Clif graduated from Clarence High School in 1964. He joined the United States Marine Corps following graduation. Cliff served at the United States Embassy and also Vietnam. He lived in the area most of his life. Clif married Fran Miller in 1979. He was the City of Calamus Public Works Director and Fire Chief of the Calamus Volunteer Fire Department for many years. His wife, Fran preceded him in death in 2000. In 2002 he married Brenda Sterner and resided in Michigan where he was employed by Lowes.
Clif loved his family and friends dearly and enjoyed hunting, fishing and racing.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda; daughters, Amy (Pat Cavanagh) Steward, Jenny (Troy) Mohr, Jenny (Ian Macpherson) Lacey; sons, Jeff Sterner and Jeremy (Dana) Sterner; grandchildren, Shalyn Steward, Kolton Steward, Mckalyn Steward, Malana Mohr, Mason Mohr, Jacob Sterner, Brenden Sterner, Alexander Sterner Lauren Sterner, Alexandra Sterner and Riley Macpherson. He was told a week ago he would be first time great-grandpa in March.
Services were held in Livonia, Michigan. A Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2020, at the Calamus Fire Station.
