Clara (Mrs. Robert) Wilhelm, 98, of Calamus, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022, at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service time of 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Church in Calamus, The Rev. Roberta Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus.

Clara was born September 15, 1923, to Franz and Klara (Feldler) Sturmbauer, in Steyer, Austria. She married Robert Wilhelm on April 5, 1947, in Austria. They emigrated to the United States with their sons in 1953 through a sponsorship with Faith Lutheran Church in Calamus and Victor & Evelyn Stueland. They farmed locally until they retired. Robert preceded her in death in 1998.
She enjoyed dancing, gardening, golfing, bowling, playing cards, knitting and crocheting. She was an excellent cook, and loved to be the life of the party. She and Robert enjoyed wintering in Florida and traveling to Austria to visit family.
She is survived by her children, Margarete “Gretel” (Franz) Lindner of Austria, Fred (Dorinda) Wilhelm of Wheatland, Herbert (Diane) Wilhelm of Lost Nation, and Linda (Gordon) Holmes of Davenport; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a nephew, George.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, a son-in-law, Hans Sonntagbauer and a special friend, Frank.
