Charles Kimball Obituary

Charlie Kimball, 82, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Wheatland Manor.

Charles Frederick Kimball was born on September 30, 1942, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Cyril D. and Ruth Elisabeth (Marlowe) Kimball. He graduated from Delmar High School and later St. Ambrose College. Charlie worked for International Harvester and Burnett Thiel Ford in Maquoketa. After retirement, he continued working part-time, driving for several car dealerships and Schultz Funeral Home. 

Charlie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt and a founding member of the Clinton County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Reserves, where he proudly served for 26 years. He was also active with the DeWitt Noon Lions and helped put together travelog presentations for the community. Charlie had a passion for snowmobiling and traveled to many places with friends to enjoy the sport.

Charlie is survived by his cousins, Jack Marlowe of Maquoketa, Judy Masko and Bonnie Camm, both of Wisconsin, many dear friends, and his special friend, Darlene Dircks. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, rural Maquoketa.
