Chanda Kae Swanson, 45, formerly of DeWitt, Iowa, died Sunday morning, August 1, 2021, in Littleton, Colorado.
She was born November 27, 1975, in Houston, Texas, to Robert and Marian (Baird) Swanson. Chanda was a graduate of Central Community High School. She attended Graceland University in Lamoni and graduated from The Chicago College of Music at Roosevelt University in Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Chanda worked as a licensed esthetician, makeup artist, Reiki Healer and Teacher and Intuitive Counselor. She did makeup for 5280 Denver's Mile-high Magazine and 303 Denver's Premier Lifestyle Magazine.
Surviving are her mother, Marian Swanson of DeWitt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Julie Hansen of DeWitt and Channing and Michelle Swanson of Des Moines; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Hansen Overy, Jessica Hansen, Lauren (Jamere) Hansen Hill, Tim Hansen, Sloane Swanson and Cole Swanson; great-nephews and great-nieces, Jack Overy, Ady Overy, Eli Overy, Cam Overy, Kai Overy, Parker Hill and Kennedy Hill.
Preceding Chanda in death were her father, Robert Swanson and a nephew, Zach Overy.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Bixby will officiate and Chanda's niece, Ady Overy, will celebrate Chanda's love of music and dance with lyrical dance, "Forever Now". A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. George Dixon will officiate. Interment will follow.
