Cathy Bormann, 55, of Clinton, Iowa, peacefully left this world on May 24, 2024, at Genesis Hospital in Davenport, Iowa.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Preston, Iowa, with visitation one hour prior. Celebration of Life will follow at the Millenium Ballroom in Goose Lake.
Cathy was born Catherine Theresa McCarthy in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia on October 25, 1968, to Marguerite “Sue” (McCoy) McCarthy and the late Col. Edmond R. McCarthy. Cathy and her husband, Chuck, were married in April 1989. They lived in Eastern Iowa since 1992, where they raised their family.
She enjoyed bragging about her children, dancing, camping and fishing. Cathy will always be remembered for the immense love she had for her family, Christ, and the simple things in life. Raising her children and welcoming her grandson into this world were her greatest joys.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband and love of her life, Charles “Chuck”; her two children, Carly and Charles Jr. “Charlie”, her grandson, Luke, daughter-in-law, Kelly, son-in-law, Michael; her siblings, Edmond Jr. and his wife Mary, Denis, and Rita and her husband Mike Benefield, as well as her mother Marguerite “Sue” McCarthy.
She was preceded in death by her father, and brother, Kevin.
She will be deeply missed.
