Casey Posten

Casey Posten, 74, of Grand Mound, Iowa, passed away peacefully early Monday, September 11, 2023, with family at her side, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon Friday, September 15, 2023, at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound. A Graveside Service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound. Casual attire is welcomed.

Casey was born Mary Kathaleen Franklin on December 2, 1948, to Gilbert and Mary (Misegades) Franklin in Marietta, Georgia. She spent her childhood in Webster Grove, MO, and was very active in school sports. After moving to Iowa, she graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1966. Casey married Dave Posten, with whom she had three children. The family moved to Grand Mound in 1975. They later divorced. Casey was a proud member of the Grand Mound Community, and appreciated all the support she received over the years. She enjoyed camping with friends and family, playing cards and puzzles with her grandchildren, and crafting ceramics.

Casey is survived by her loving children, David (Michelle) Posten, Terry (Melanie) Posten, and Beverly (John) Wilford, all of Davenport; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Gil (Terry) Franklin, of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law, Larry Beeth; sister-in-law, Joyce Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children, and her sister, Jean Beeth.
