Carl Richards

Carl Richards Jr., 86, passed away peacefully in his home May 2, 2024, in Clinton, Iowa.

Carl Richards Jr. was born August 7, 1937, in Davenport, Iowa, to Carl Sr. and Mabel (Boyle) Richards. Carl served honorably in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1958. His dedication and service to his country were a source of great pride for him throughout his life.

Carl shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Donna, and their three daughters, Cindy Barton, Pamela Thompson (deceased), and Christine Pullen. His family was the cornerstone of his happiness and the source of immeasurable pride.

Carl enjoyed camping, going on cruises, and time with his family. He and Donna traveled the country in their RV on their wild adventures. He’ll be remembered for his loving and generous spirit. He never met a stranger, and would give the shirt off his back.

Carl is survived by his wife of 64 years, Donna; daughters, Cindy Barton of Sterling, Illinois, and Christine (Ken) Pullen of Springboro, Ohio; 6 grandchildren: Robin (Matt) Vaughn, Kimberly (Chris) Garcia, Angel Bodkin, Brittany (Corey) Johnson, Martina, Madison, Steve, Tony (Melissa), and Daniel (Amy) Pullen; 11 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Cameron, Zachary, Emma, Colton, Eli, Corey, Charlene, Lewis, Caitlyn, Teagan, Landon, and Denali; great-great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Elijah, and James.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Pamela Thompson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Cornerstone Assembly of God, 2108 11th St, Dewitt, IA, followed by a time of food and fellowship.
