Candyce Ann Faust, age 84, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died peacefully Sunday, March 30, 2025, at her home at The Fountains Senior Living surrounded by her family.
Candyce, known by her family and friends as Candy, was born June 3, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa, to Mary (Tague) and Harry Kirkpatrick. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School. She married Douglas Barber on June 20, 1959, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt. She later married Daniel Faust on October 18, 2008, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Danny passed away on November 27, 2017.
During her lifetime, Candy had impressive career paths in the floral business, sales, banking, and real estate. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf and an aficionado of music and art. She was also an accomplished pianist and painter.
Candy will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter, Lisa (Vern) Hughes of Cary, NC; sons, Kirk (Violet) Barber of Broken Arrow, OK, Mark (Tina) Barber of Tulsa, OK; brothers Jerry (Judie) Kirkpatrick of Bettendorf, Charles (Janice) Seifert of Granbury, TX, Mick (Bernie) Seifert of Clinton, Steve (Vickie) Seifert of Davenport, Jack (Teresa) Seifert of Albany, and Todd (Shelly) Seifert of DeWitt; grandchildren, Hayden Hughes, Erin Rucker, Shannon Massey, Anna McCall, Kristina Covington, Karmen Nystrom, Josh Barber and Dylan Barber; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and so many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Candy in death were her parents; her stepfather, Charles Seifert; her husband, Danny; a brother, Phillip; and two sisters-in-law, Rhonda and Connie Seifert.
The family will receive friends and relatives at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in DeWitt on Friday, April 4, from 9:30 to 10:45. Reverend Stephen Page will officiate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Burial will take place after the service at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Hayden Hughes, Kristina Covington, Dylan Barber, Adam Seifert, Brittany Seifert, and Mitch Seifert. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Kirkpatrick and Casey Covington.
Memorials may be made to St Croix Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
