Brenda Andresen, 70, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away surrounded by family, Saturday, April 20, 2024, at The Alverno in Clinton, following a 14-month courageous battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
She was born Brenda Lee Van Horn on September 6, 1953, the daughter of Robert and Gertrude (Greaves) Van Horn, in Clinton, Iowa. After graduating from high school in Sabula, she married Paul Wisor, with whom she had 3 children. They later divorced. On January 9, 1987, she was united in marriage to Sylvan “Sy” Andresen. The couple resided on a small farm near Elvira, later moving to Clinton, where they have resided since. She worked at Jane Lamb Hospital and Burke Florist.
Brenda enjoyed decorating her home, inside and out, for the seasons, growing beautiful flowers around the house. She enjoyed going for leisurely rides, listening to classic country music, and her dog, Bella. Brenda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Sy; children, Paula (Tim) Clausen, Ryan (Amy) Wisor, Sylvia (Mark) Duhr, Rhonda (Brian) Kearns, and Clint (Keitha) Andresen, all of Clinton; grandchildren, Chyna, Zach, Evan, Bryce, Rylee, Chloe, and Charlee; great-grandchildren, Vincent, Jack, and Van; siblings, David (Shelba) Van Horn, Kathy (John) Kustes, and Myrna (Ned) Stoltenburg; sisters-in-law, Mary May and Linda May; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Stacy, brothers, Ron and Dennis, and a sister, Gloria (Terry) Hamilton.
