Bob Rowson, 88, of Toronto, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, in Iowa City, Iowa, with family at his side.
Robert Raymond Rowson was born on June 26, 1937, in Clinton, Iowa, to Raymond Fredrick and Alma Ellen (Grimm) Rowson. He graduated from Elvira High School and later married Patricia Dawn Bartels on December 18, 1964. Together, they made their home in DeWitt before moving to Toronto in 1975.
Bob retired from Alcoa in 1996 following many years of dedicated employment. He enjoyed camping, traveling, attending the Iowa State Fair, and listening to country music. Above all, he will be remembered for his gentle nature and wonderful sense of humor, which brought warmth and laughter to those around him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Pat Rowson of Toronto, Iowa; daughter, Debi (Mike) Levsen of Toronto, Iowa; grandchildren, Amber Levsen and Levi (Amanda) Levsen; a nephew, John (Mandy) Maynard; and his special “birthday buddy”, Dr. Tara.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roger Richard Rowson; and his sister, Donna (John “Jack”) Maynard.
Cremation is being provided by the Schultz Funeral Home family at their crematory in DeWitt. Private family services will be held at a later date.
