William “Bill” Teubel, 91, of Eldridge, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2025, at Wheatland Manor in Wheatland.
Bill will be laid to rest at the Rock Island National Cemetery with a family committal service.

Bill was born in Deer Creek, Illinois. He also lived in Peoria; Eldridge, Iowa; Moline; Geneseo and Bloomington/Normal, Illinois.
He was employed at Caterpillar for 37 years, 17 years in Peoria and 20 years in Mt. Joy, IA. He helped to set up the Data Processing area for CAT. After retiring from CAT, he worked 10 years for Central Scott Telephone Company as a salesman.
He has 2 children, Bill and Darla, 4 grandsons and 3 granddaughters and 1 great grandson.
He attended Deer Creek elementary school and Dee-Mack high school. He loved his high school and was a player on the inaugural football team there. He also attended Bradley University, Eastern Iowa Community College and Black Hawk College. He attended many IBM professional development courses that were offered.
He served in the United States Army for 2 years. He did his basic training in Fort Carson, CO. After that he served at the 5th Army Headquarters in Chicago as a Data Processing Clerk.
He was an avid runner for over 25 years. His races included 5 marathons, 26 half marathons and countless 10K’s. He ran in 37 states, including Hawaii twice and Pikes Peak in Colorado, which had good altitude gain; Mexico and in Canada. He was a devoted volunteer to the Eldridge 24 Hour Run. He was proud of his achievement of placing 6th in the Bix run in Davenport in the 60-69 age group. He served the Road Runners of America running club and was awarded the Outstanding Representative of Iowa. He was also a member of the Corn Belt Running Club and served on the National CBRC.
He had a love of serving: he was the Board President of the Eldridge Planning Committee, Vice President of the North Scott Athletic Board and he was a member of the Education Council in Eldridge. He volunteered at the Cancer Center in Normal Illinois. He was on the church board at St. Luke Union, where he also served as an Elder and a Deacon.
Sports was his passion. He loved the Bears, the Cardinals and the collegiate Northern Illinois University football team. It was a highlight for him to watch NIU play in the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego, as well as attending 7 collegiate Final Four basketball games. He loved to watch BIG 10 basketball. He was a board member and volunteer with the Quad City Angels baseball organization.
His hobbies included walking and working out, investing and keeping track of his stocks, attending community theater productions, traveling and enjoying barbershop quartet music.
