Arthur Pingel, Jr., “Pepsi” 88, of Wheatland, Iowa, formerly of Charlotte, died Sunday October 23, 2022, at Wheatland Manor.
A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2022, at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Lost Nation Cemetery.
Arthur Otto Pingel “Pepsi” was born November 8, 1933, to Arthur and Edith (Wittrock) Pingel in Clinton County Iowa. He graduated from Lost Nation High School in 1952. He was married to Marilyn Hazen, with whom he had a daughter. They later divorced. Pepsi drove over-the-road semi across the United States, and worked for the Clinton County Road Commission.
After retirement Pepsi enjoyed traveling, including trips to Alaska and Hawaii, and playing cards in many different card clubs. He was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, and even attended a game in Hawaii. He enjoyed the last 8 years as a resident of Wheatland Manor, where he made many friends.
Surviving are his daughter, Vicky; a brother, Kenneth (Nancy) Pingel of Bettendorf, Iowa and Alamo, Texas; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dennis Pingel.
