Andy Perry

Andy Perry, 85, of Stone Lake, Wisconsin, formerly of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a brave and courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia. He was one of the kindest souls to ever walk this earth – a truly good man who touched countless lives with his loyalty, genuine nature, and unwavering kindness.

William Andrew “Andy” Perry was born March 4, 1940, in Clinton, Iowa, to Raymond and Thera (Frederick) Perry. He graduated from DeWitt High School. Andy married Connie Grover on August 14, 1964. The couple resided in rural DeWitt, where they farmed and raised 3 children. He also drove over-the-road as an owner operator for many years. The couple retired to Stone Lake, Wisconsin.

He was the kind of person who never made an enemy. He treated everyone with respect and warmth, whether he knew you for a lifetime or had just met you. He lived with a quiet strength, a generous heart, and a commitment to always doing right by others. He led by example – never needing to say much, because his actions spoke volumes.

Andy had a lifelong passion for drag racing, beginning under the tutelage of his lifelong mentor, Arnie Beswick. His favorite cars were his ‘61 and ‘63 Pontiacs, in which he went undefeated for two years. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, and had a particular talent for collecting pens – a small joy that always made those around him smile. Andy loved a good buffet, and anyone who joined him for a meal knew they were in for not just good food, but even better company. Most important to him was the time he spent with the people he loved most, his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are his children, Douglas Perry of Oran, Jennifer (Jim) Block of DeWitt, Eric (Renee) Perry of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Cody Perry, and Brianna Sandstrom (Taner Burns), Derek (Ashley) Block, Arianna (Noah) Weeks, Dustin Block, Andrew Block (Taylor Tenley), Alexia Block and Carter and Reece Perry; great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Miller Sandstrom, Isabella, Baylor and Perri Block, Paisley Rathje, Sloane Weeks, and baby Weeks on the way.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie, parents, Ray and Thera Perry, his in-laws, Margaret and Elmer Grover, and his beloved puppy dog Charlize.

In keeping with Andy’s wishes, a private family committal will be held.
