Amy Sater Obituary

Amy Sater, 42, of Le Claire, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, in the funeral home, Grace Knapper officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Amy Lynn Sater was born June 24, 1982, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Harold and Corrinne (Dohrmann) Sater. She grew up in Low Moor, graduating from Central Community Schools in DeWitt, class of 2001, and then Iowa School of The Blind, Vinton.

Amy was a devoted member of Low Moor Methodist Church. She served in many roles over the years, including coordinating snack times for Kid’s Club and helping with church events. She also served breakfast at the Low Moor Lion’s Club, always happy to lend a hand where it was needed. Amy found true joy in cooking and baking for others. She planned menus and ran the kitchen for Vacation Bible School for several years. She especially looked forward to annual Christmas cookie baking days, and delivering homemade treats to nursing homes, family, and friends. She also enjoyed traveling when able, crafting, and attending her niece and nephew’s activities. Amy was honored to have attended Camp Courageous, a meaningful experience. As a member of Empower House, a Q.C.A. brain injury club, she discovered renewed purpose and built lasting friendships. Above all, Amy cherished the time spent with her beloved dogs, Sassy and Tanner.

Surviving are her mother, Cori; sisters, Allison (Andy) McGraw of Park View, and Alexis (Ryan) McCoy of Eldridge; a nephew and niece, Aiden and Addison McGraw; maternal grandparents, Bill and Connie Dohrmann; her dog, Sassy; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, paternal grandparents, Robert and Mabel Sater, stepsisters, Brenda and Melissa, and her dog, Tanner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Empower House at 2720 West Locust Street Suite 9B Davenport, Iowa 52804, or Low Moor Methodist Church.

Arrangements are in the care of Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Condolences may be expressed at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com
