Alice Schnepel, 77, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
Alice May Kevern was born November 19, 1946, in Elizabeth, Illinois, to Norman G. and Eunice (Deneen) Kevern. She graduated from Elizabeth High School in 1965. Alice married Marvin L. Schnepel on July 9, 1966. Alice furthered her education at Clinton Community College obtaining her LPN degree, and later a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Kaplan University. Alice was a nurse at Jane Lamb Hospital, and later Medical Associates. She later served as the R.S.V.P. Coordinator for Clinton County, and finally retired as the Volunteer Coordinator for Mercy Hospice.
Alice served on the Board of Directors in various capacities for Community Care, Inc., Clinton County Development Association, and the American Bloodhound Club. She enjoyed reading, singing, horses, the Kansas City Chiefs, watching television. The loves of her life were firstly her family and close friends, and a close second were her bloodhounds, and Odie the basset hound, and third was eating at Buzzy’s.
Surviving are her husband Marvin; her daughter, Tamara Schnepel, of DeWitt; and her dear nephews and niece, Norm Arnold, Terry Arnold, and Cynthia Carr and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Clifford Kevern and Norma Jean Arnold.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family through Schultz Funeral Home.
