Sandra Jean Shontz

Sandra Jean Shontz, 79, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Saturday afternoon, April 7, 2018, at Genesis Medical Center-DeWitt.

She was born June 15, 1938, in DeWitt to the late Austin Ward, II and Gertrude (Schlotfeldt) Shontz.   Sandra was a graduate of DeWitt High School.  In addition to raising her four children, she worked at the Social Security office in Clinton and later Davenport for over 40 years, until retirement.

Sandra was a member of the United Methodist Church, DeWitt.  She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and working puzzles.  Sandra loved cats and was a great fan of Elvis.

Surviving are children, Fred Foreman of DeWitt, Laurie (Jay) Green of Bryant, Raymond Foreman of DeWitt and Brian (Stacey) Foreman of Clinton; grandchildren, Kara Stahmer, Zac Foreman, Amanda Foreman, William (Stacey) Foreman, Dr. Angela (Mark LaCroix) Hillman, David Hillman, Jr., Gavin Green, Jennifer Green, Eric Foreman, Nicole (David) Olson, Cheyenne (Michael) Petersen, Ashley (Zach) Caes, Dean Foreman, Hailey Foreman and Blaze Foreman; great-grandchildren, Alexis Foreman, Landon Green, Kale Olson, Kora Olson, Kinsley Olson, Audrinna Caes and Greyson Caes.

Also preceding Sandra in death were a brother and sister-in-law, Austin Ward, III and Vicki Shontz.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the United Methodist Church, DeWitt from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018.  A service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the church with Pastor Tom Boomershine officiating.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.
