Patricia Marie (Skeffington) Sander

Patricia Marie “Pattie” Sander, 61, of DeWitt, Iowa, died early Tuesday morning, September 26, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.

Pattie was born July 21, 1956, in DeWitt to the late Francis “Swede” and Marcelene (Heuertz) Skeffington. She graduated from Central Community School, DeWitt in 1974. She married John Sander July 11, 1992.

Pattie had a lifelong love of spending time on the river with her family. She loved baking, crocheting, and making things for her nieces and nephews, whom she liked spending time with. Pattie enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband and friends.

Surviving are her husband, John; siblings, Mary (Dale) McMahon of DeWitt, Bill Skeffington of Phoenix, Ann (Tim) Patzkowsky of Stanwood, Mike (Maruja) Skeffington of Orlando and Tom (Marcie) Skeffington of DeWitt; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister-in-law, Jan Skeffington.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017, in the church with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Page officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
