Mike graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1947, where he learned to play the piano and participated in school plays.
But, Mike was destined for the big city and enrolled in the organ program at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, where he earned a Liberal Arts Degree. He worked for brokerage firms in Chicago for 33 years before retiring from Mesirow & Co. In 2005, for health reasons and to be closer to family, Mike moved to Bettendorf, Iowa.
