I was always so impressed with your Mom's sweet personality and contagious smile!! What a trooper she was and still writing informative articles long after everyone else had retired! Now I know where you get your energy and spunk from Sue!! We will be sending a memorial as we cannot be there as we need to attend the burial of our Greatgrandson, Kyler Lavery on Sat. at 10:00am in Rock Island.

So very sorry to read of Mary Lou's passing. You were so fortunate to have her for 90 years. She was truly a life-long learner and was accomplished in so many ways, notably raising four children, all accomplished in their own right. Her by-lines were a magnet for many readers. My deepest sympathy to Mary Lou's entire family. I had the pleasure of working in and for the County Board of Supervisor's boardroom when Mary Lou was deemed "Watchdog" for that board. She even had an office with signage on the wall stating such. What a gal!!! Our country needs more like her - determined, strong-willed, but as gracious as her personality allowed.
